Dale Ioannides has taught in some of the most poverty-stricken places within the United States from a Navajo Reservation to Newark. She has a deep understanding of how poverty and education intertwine in education today.
In 2023, while serving as an instructional coach in Atlanta, she noticed a huge discrepancy in how much teachers could spend on student learning between the north and south side of the city. When seeing the impact on students already facing inequities in education today, she decided to act through School Is In.
School Is In's Board of Directors consists of professionals within education, business, and legal sectors. Some of them are parents and teachers, some work in schools, and some do both. We all share the desire for schools filled with the learning materials needed for healthy communities and education today.
